Learn How to Extract in Photoshop | TrickyPhotoshop

Hello guys I am Vaibhav and in this tutorial I am going to show you How to Extract in Photoshop CS6. Last time I discussed about Adding Instagram Mayfair Effect to an Image using Photoshop which is a recommended tutorial for Instagram fans. I am going to use quick selection tool, refine edge tool, layer mask and of course layer panel. I am not choosing an image in which there is a person standing with white, gray or black background because selecting a person with that background is much easier as compared to selecting a person with multicolor background. As I am using quick selection tool so my selection will not be perfect. If you want your selection to be perfect with much more flexibility than you are always welcome to read this article: How to Select a Person in Photoshop Using Pen Tool.

STEP 1

Open your image in Photoshop. Grab quick selection tool from the tool panel or you can press Shift+W again and again until it comes. This method is much easier as compared to method 2 in which we are going to use pen tool but method 2 gives you more flexibility.

Make sure that the mode is add to selection. Uncheck sample all layers. If we turn on sample all layers then our quick selection tool will make selection through all the layers present in layer panel and we don’t want that. Also make sure that auto enhance is turned on.
